Class 4 (Unrestricted) License
A Class 4 unrestricted driver’s license allows you to operate the following vehicles:
- Buses: Transporting up to 25 passengers, including school buses, special activity buses, and vehicles used for transporting people with disabilities.
- Motor Vehicles: Any motor vehicle or combination of vehicles in Class 5.
- Taxis: Providing professional taxi services in urban and rural areas.
- Limousines: Offering luxurious limousine services for various events.
- Ambulances: Serving as a paramedic driver, transporting patients safely to medical facilities.
Class 4 (Restricted) License
A restricted Class 4 driver’s license allows you to transport up to 10 passengers (including the driver) in vehicles such as:

- Ambulances: Suitable for paramedic drivers.
- Shuttle Vehicles: Transporting passengers for ride-hailing services like UBER and LYFT.

At Walia Driving School, we offer a variety of driving lessons to cater to different needs, including Basic Car Driving Lessons, Defensive Driving Courses, Graduated Licensing Program (GLP), Senior Driving Lessons, Motorcycle Rider Training, and Commercial Driver Training for Class 1, 2, 3, and 4 licenses. The eligibility requirements vary depending on the type of driving course. Generally, you must have a valid B.C. driver’s license (or an out-of-province equivalent) and meet the age requirement for the specific course. For example, our Class 4 Truck Driver Training requires you to be at least 19 years old and possess a Class 4 learner’s permit. Yes, we offer convenient pick-up and drop-off services for driving lessons. Our instructors can pick you up from your home or school and drop you off at the end of the lesson. Our late-model, driving school branded cars are equipped with in-car cameras to ensure your safety during the lessons.
The Graduated Licensing Program (GLP) is designed to help new drivers gain experience gradually while being exposed to less risk. Our GLP course includes 12 hours of one-on-one in-car driving lessons, 16 hours of ICBC-approved classroom-based instruction, and 4 hours of online training. Completing the GLP can reduce your "N" stage from 24 months to 18 months and earn you two credits towards high school graduation in British Columbia.
We are always looking for passionate individuals to join our team of driving instructors. To qualify, you must have a Class 5 driving license for a minimum of 3 years and preferably an ICBC driving instructor license for Class 5 & 7. If you do not have an instructor license, we will guide you on how to obtain it and provide ICBC-approved instructor training.
